Company Profile

Established in 1992, G.A Electrical has developed a solid and loyal client base, enabling expansion into a wide range of electrical projects. This has come about through commitment to customer satisfaction and a superior quality of work.

Our growing workforce of 30 is all ECS Health & Safety registered and attend regular courses on all aspects of electrical installation and site safety.

A efficient team of Contract managers, in house design and estimation, together with direct company involvement from directors, ensure customer satisfaction and a quality of work unsurpassed.

Long standing members of both the NICIEC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contractors) and the ECA (Electrical Contractors Association) we are committed to the highest quality service on all projects regardless of the value.

All tradesman and supervisors are directly employed, many following an apprenticeship, helping to provide a stable and positive work force equally dedicated to obtaining optimal efficiency through the use of the latest plant and installation equipment available.

Our environmental commitment

We recognise our responsibility to prevent pollution in all parts of our operations, safeguard the environment and take positive steps to minimise the environmental impacts of our operations. We aim to comply with applicable legislation, regulations and industry codes of practice, and seek to implement good practice.

Our Aims

  • To operate an environmental management system (EMS) throughout the company.
  • To use energy and water efficiently and optimise our use of natural resources.
  • To minimise the volume of waste deposited to landfill by reusing and recycling materials wherever possible.
  • To encourage modes of transport, which minimise environmental impact, ensure that our staff are aware of efficient driving and examine the operation of our vehicles.
  • To ensure that our staff are aware of relevant environmental issues, and of their own roles and responsibilities in delivering the overall programme and providing training for those with particular responsibilities.
  • To continue to consider environmental factors and risks in our commercial and charity decisions, alert our customers to the importance of these issues, and direct them to specialist sources of advice.
  • To encourage the development of products and services that will help our customers to adopt sound environmental principles and practices.
  • To ensure that our key suppliers and contractors are aware of our policy and that wherever possible, they operate to similar standards, as a minimum.
  • To continue to provide support for sustainability initiatives that contribute towards the preservation or enhancement of the quality of life in the communities in which we operate.
  • To regularly monitor, audit and review our environmental programme to ensure continuous improvement, and identify examples of best practice that may be shared throughout the company.
  • To embrace The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive which came into force in January 2007 and aims to both reduce the amount of WEEE being produced and encourage everyone to reuse, recycle and recover it.

Our Accreditations

Electrical Contractors Association (ECA)

The ECA works closely with government and key national bodies to improve industry standards and procedures. Its comprehensive, progressive and innovative services are highly respected and renowned throughout the industry. The ECA represents the best in electrical engineering and building services, and promotes quality and safety.

National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contractors (NICEIC)

Contractors registered by NICEIC are assessed on a regular basis to ensure that they are competent and capable of meeting the relevant technical and safety standards, codes of practice and rules of the Schemes they are registered to. Contractors registered to NICEIC Building Regulations Schemes are authorised to self-certify their work without hindrance from Local Authority Building Control. This saves you both time and money when undertaking work that requires notification under the Building Regulations.

Joint Industry Board (JIB)

The principal objects of the Joint Industry Board are to regulate the relations between employers and employees engaged in the industry. The JIB develops industrial relations and safety standards and practices in the electro-technical sector.
